Meanwhile, Marlboro County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 6-5 heartbreaker at the hands of Dillon. That's two games in a row now that the Bulldogs have lost by just one run.
Abby Quick was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits over four innings pitched. Furthermore, she didn't allow a single hit, the first time she has blanked an opponent since back in March. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run. That stolen base was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Ruthie Grooms made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 1-for-3 with nine stolen bases, one run, and one RBI.
