Brandon Valley has gone a perfect 3-0 against O'Gorman recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Lynx will look to defend their home field against the Knights at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
O'Gorman will be up against a hot Brandon Valley squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. The Lynx put the hurt on Mitchell with a sharp 16-3 win on Friday.
Brandon Valley got a massive performance out of Briley Laber, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Aniston Murray was another key player, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while O'Gorman put up plenty of runs on Friday, the same can't be said for Yankton. The Knights were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over the Bucks/Gazelles. The game marked the Knights' most dominant victory of the season so far.
Mary Koch made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over four innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with four RBI.
In other batting news, Sonia Deckert was incredible, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Another player making a difference was Ellie Van Wyhe, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI.
O'Gorman hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Yankton struck out seven times.
Brandon Valley's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 9-2. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.3 runs on average over those games. As for O'Gorman, their win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-5.
Brandon Valley beat O'Gorman 6-1 in their previous matchup on Tuesday. Will the Lynx repeat their success, or do the Knights have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
