The Hurricane Redskins struggled with threes on Monday (the Ravenswood Red Devils had five more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Hurricane was the victim of a tough 64-42 loss at the hands of the Red Devils. Hurricane has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Hurricane's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Rylyn Bielinski, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds, and Alexandra Anderson who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds. Another player making a difference was Kendall Anderson, who scored five points along with 12 rebounds.
Even though they lost, Hurricane smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 30 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Hadleigh McGoskey was her usual excellent self, scoring 31 points for Ravenswood. That makes it four consecutive games in which McGoskey has scored at least a third of Ravenswood's points. Emily Wratchford was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Hurricane has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-11 record this season. As for Ravenswood, they have been performing well recently as they've won eight of their last ten games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-7 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hurricane will take on the Timberwolves at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Ravenswood, they will look to defend their home court on February 13th against the Irish at 7:00 p.m.
