Softball Recap: Southington Wins Going Away Against Middletown

Southington won the last time they faced Middletown and things went their way on Saturday too. The Blue Knights blew past the Blue Dragons 14-2. The result was nothing new for the Blue Knights, who have now won seven matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Aubrey Perugini was a standout: she went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That triple was her first of the season. The team also got some help courtesy of Chloe Bafundo, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI.

Southington's record is now 9-2. As for Middletown, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

Looking ahead, Southington will head out to square off against Waterford at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Blue Knights 2.8, the Lancers 2.1) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Middletown, they will be playing at home against Coventry/Windham RVT/Bolton/Lyman Memorial at 2:30 p.m. on Monday.
