When it comes to explaining why Lanier County lost on Friday, one person who can't be blamed is Nehemiah Davis. Despite the final result, he rushed for 173 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.6 yards per carry. Davis was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 55 yards. Bj Jones was another key contributor, picking up 159 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Lanier County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Emanuel County Institute, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Lanier County does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Emanuel County Institute will head out on the road to face off against Early County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Early County is ranked 233rd, while Emanuel County Institute is ranked 240th).
