Columbus is a perfect 5-0 against Miami since March of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Explorers will take on the Stingarees at 3:30 p.m. Columbus will be looking to extend their current nine-game winning streak.
Columbus' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They blew past Somerset Academy 6-0. Considering the Explorers have won 14 contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Matthew Vigil tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out six over six innings pitched. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, Alec Cruz was excellent, going 1-for-3 with three stolen bases and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March of 2025. Rafael Diaz was another key player, going 1-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Miami beat Booker T. Washington 7-2 on Friday. The win continues a trend for the Stingarees in their matchups with the Tornadoes: they've now won six in a row.
Alex Semet looked comfortable as he tossed 2.1 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than one walk in four consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Wryan Jenkins, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one home run, three stolen bases, and two runs. The team also got some help courtesy of Randy Mercedes, who got on base in both of his plate appearances with three stolen bases and one run.
Miami's victory bumped their record up to 14-8. As for Columbus, their win bumped their record up to 21-3.
Tuesday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Columbus has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .468. However, it's not like Miami struggles in that department as they've averaged .534. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Columbus' way against Miami when the teams last played back in April of 2025, as Columbus made off with a 10-0 victory. Will the Explorers repeat their success, or do the Stingarees have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
