Basketball Recap: Alivia Bolinger's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran over Carroll

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They took a 75-61 bruising from the Carroll Chargers. While losing is never fun, the Cadets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 161st, while the Chargers are ranked 48th).

Several Cadets players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Alivia Bolinger, who went 10 of 22 on her way to 27 points along with five boards and four steals. That's the most points Bolinger has posted since back in November of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Lauren Goodman, who went 5 of 10 on her way to 14 points in addition to six assists and six steals.

Even though they lost, Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 16 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Carroll only pulled down six offensive boards.

Jersey Paul continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Carroll, going 10 of 20 on her way to 26 points along with five assists and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Cala Haffner, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran's defeat dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Carroll, they now have a winning record of 6-5.

Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 64-51 loss against Angola on the 14th. As for Carroll, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 52-41 defeat against Bellmont on the 17th.
