The LeRoy Panthers will face off against the Westville Tigers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
LeRoy was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last game, but they sure didn't let that happen against Bismarck-Henning/Rossville-Alvin on Thursday. The Panthers blew past the Blue Devils 12-5. Considering the Panthers have won 22 contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Meanwhile, Westville waltzed into their match on Wednesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They had just enough and edged out the Vikings 10-8.
Lilly Kiesel made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in six consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Westville let Peyton Sabalaskey and Laney Cook run wild. Sabalaskey went 1-for-3 with one home run and two RBI, while Cook went 1-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Daylin Zaayer, who went 1-for-4 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
Westville kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 12 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive games.
LeRoy's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 28-5. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.7 runs over those games. As for Westville, their victory bumped their record up to 27-5.
LeRoy suffered a grim 9-0 defeat to Westville in their previous matchup back in April of 2024. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other softball content.
