If the Whiteoak Wildcats were feeling good off their 66-28 takedown of the Manchester Greyhounds last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Whiteoak took a 55-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of Lynchburg-Clay on Thursday. If Whiteoak hoped to take revenge for the 70-44 loss against they when the teams met, then they were left disappointed.
Lynchburg-Clay got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Macy Etienne out in front who scored 19 points along with four steals. Etienne has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times she's played. Addison West was another key contributor, scoring 20 points.
Whiteoak's defeat dropped their record down to 13-7. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Whiteoak will head out on the road to square off against Hillsboro at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lynchburg-Clay, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Clinton-Massie at 12:30 p.m. on January 27th. Clinton-Massie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 553rd, while Lynchburg-Clay is ranked 174th).
