While the Perry Central Bulldogs couldn't quite beat the West Marion Trojans on Tuesday, the three-point margin was a huge improvement compared to the 26-point loss they were dealt last Saturday. Perry Central fell just short of West Marion by a score of 62-59. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Despite the defeat, Perry Central had strong showings from Kaden Bolton, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 15 rebounds, and Aydin Lawrence, who scored 17 points along with three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Lawrence has scored all season. Austin Jones was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Perry Central has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-11 record this season. As for West Marion, their win ended a ten-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-18.
Perry Central does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for West Marion, they will head out on the road to challenge Tylertown at 8:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tylertown is coming into the match with four straight wins at home, meaning West Marion will have to defend against a squad hungry for a victory.
