Softball Recap: Destiny Christian Academy Wins Going Away Against Rio Linda

Destiny Christian Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Rio Linda on Tuesday. The Lions were the clear victors by a 9-0 margin over the Knights. The result was nothing new for the Lions, who have now won eight games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Ayla Tuua was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two hits in 12 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

In other batting news, Destiny Christian Academy let Maddilyn Woodcock and McKayla Fulmer run wild. Woodcock went 2-for-3 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run, while Fulmer went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That's the most doubles Woodcock has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Abbey Falvey, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

Destiny Christian Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .414. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Rio Linda only posted a batting average of .045.

Destiny Christian Academy's record now sits at 12-2. As for Rio Linda, they moved to 16-6 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Destiny Christian Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next match, a 2-0 win against El Camino on the 24th. As for Rio Linda, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Woodland on the 24th.
