Given New Hope's advantage in MaxPreps' Mississippi basketball rankings (they are ranked ninth, while West Point is ranked 84th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Corinth's loss dropped their record down to 8-11. As for New Hope, their victory bumped their record up to 18-2.
