Even though the Cartersville Hurricanes have not done well against the Calhoun Yellow Jackets recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Wednesday. Cartersville secured a 41-36 W over Calhoun. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Cartersville.
Cartersville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Taff Bradley, who scored 16 points along with five rebounds. Bradley continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ansley Griffin, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
The win got Cartersville back to even at 9-9. As for Calhoun, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cartersville will take on Woodland at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Woodland is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak. Calhoun won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Hiram at 6:00 p.m. on January 18th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (Hiram is ranked 132nd, while Calhoun is ranked 117th).
