It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Pelham Hornets can now relate to. Their tough 34-8 loss to Bryan County on Friday might stick with them for a while. Having soared to a lofty 41 points in the game before, Pelham couldn't push the score so high this time.
Austin Clemons went supernova for Bryan County, rushing for 178 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.4 yards per carry. Bryan County also got a significant boost from Jacari Carney, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 113 yards.
Pelham's loss dropped their record down to 5-7. As for Bryan County, their victory was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 11-1.
Pelham does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Bryan County will square off against Commerce at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Commerce is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
