Basketball Recap: Christian Learning Center Takes a Loss

Christian Learning Center lost against Training Center Christian back in January of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Christian Learning Center Mustangs took a 72-66 hit to the loss column at the hands of Training Center Christian. While the Mustangs didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating Training Center Christian 17-12 in the first quarter.

When it comes to explaining why Christian Learning Center lost, don't look at Easton Rhodes. Despite the final result, he went 12 of 25 to rack up 28 points. That's the most points Rhodes has posted since back in November of 2024. Sam Love was another key player, putting up seven points and five assists.

Creed Lopez was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 33 points and ten boards for Training Center Christian. The matchup was Lopez's 19th in a row with at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Dallas Doll, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds.

Christian Learning Center has traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 10-10 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points over those games. As for Training Center Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-5.

Christian Learning Center has already played their next game, a 42-40 loss against Clinton Christian Academy on the 4th. As for Training Center Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 60-51 defeat against Chesterton Academy of St. Philip Neri on the 28th.
