The Idaho Falls Tigers will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Kuna Kavemen at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Kuna took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Idaho Falls, who comes in off a win.
Idaho Falls made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Burley, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went Idaho Falls' way against Burley on Saturday as Idaho Falls made off with a 15-7 win. The high-scoring performance was a welcome turnaround for the Tigers' hitters, who had struggled in the games prior.
Anthony Morales was a standout: he scored three runs while getting on base in four of his five plate appearances. What's more, he posted two hits, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. Tegan Sorenson was another key player, scoring three runs while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Kuna didn't have quite enough to beat Vallivue on Saturday and fell 8-7.
Zane Hoagland was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.2 innings pitched.
On the hitting side, Zane Lombardi led a balanced group of hitters, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances. Another player making a difference was Alex Whitt, who scored a run while getting on base in all five of his plate appearances.
Kuna's defeat dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Idaho Falls, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 1-2.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Idaho Falls has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 2.7 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Kuna struggles in that department as they've been averaging 3.5 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Everything went Idaho Falls' way against Kuna in their previous meeting back in May of 2021, as Idaho Falls made off with a 12-2 win. Does Idaho Falls have another victory up their sleeve, or will Kuna turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
