The Lawrence County Red Devils entered their tilt with the West Point Warriors with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Lawrence County walked away with a 59-50 victory over West Point on Tuesday. For Lawrence County, this counts as revenge for the 65-54 defeat West Point walked away with the last time they faced one another back in December of 2023.
Braylon Dame was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with three steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which he has scored at least 25% of Lawrence County's points. Another player making a difference was Zander Keepers, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Lawrence County's win bumped their record up to 12-9. As for West Point, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-7.
Lawrence County will head out on the road to face off against Russellville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Russellville presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Lawrence County in Alabama (Russellville is ranked 47th, while Lawrence County is ranked 150th). As for West Point, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Brewer at 7:45 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Brewer focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 24 last Friday.
