Innovation Academy pushed their score all the way to 68 on Tuesday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Academy of Notre Dame 72-68. Innovation Academy has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Innovation Academy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jayden Ogbeide, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and ten rebounds, and Derrick Twum who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds. That was a full 36.8% of Innovation Academy's points, marking the seventh time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ayden Rogers, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds.
Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 64-36, which was the final score in Cristo Rey's tilt against Neighborhood House Charter two weeks ago.
Innovation Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 6-5. As for Cristo Rey, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-5.
Innovation Academy strolled past Cristo Rey in their previous matchup back in February of 2023 by a score of 64-46. Will Innovation Academy repeat their success, or does Cristo Rey have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
