Jarrell has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. The Jarrell Cougars and the Gatesville Hornets will face off at 6:30 p.m. on December 12th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Gatesville took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Jarrell, who comes in off a win.
Last Saturday, Jarrell beat Savio 59-47.
Jarrell found their leader in underclassman Aniya Taylor, who scored 22 points along with six rebounds. The match was Taylor's 17th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Kaydyn Edwards, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Gatesville's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their fourth straight loss. They fell just short of Thrall by a score of 38-35.
Jarrell has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. As for Gatesville, their loss dropped their record down to 6-8.
Jarrell strolled past Gatesville in their previous meeting on Thursday by a score of 64-45. The rematch might be a little tougher for Jarrell since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
