Nanuet fought the good fight in their overtime  game against Pearl River  on Saturday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell  42-35 to the Pirates. The  defeat was just more heartbreak for the Golden Knights, who fell  20-17 when the teams last met  back in October of 2023.
 Pearl River's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but  Tommy Mahoney led the charge by rushing for 176 yards and a pair of  scores while picking up 8.0 yards per carry, and also picking up 61 receiving yards and one  touchdown. Mahoney was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards. Another signal caller making a difference was  TJ Lanese, who threw for 220 yards and three  TDs.
Nanuet's loss dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Pearl River,  the  victory made it two in a row for them and  bumps their season record up to 5-3.
