The Northbrook Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They were dealt a 54-12 loss at the hands of Cy-Fair. Northbrook was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-2.
Cy-Fair's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taniyah Davis, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three blocks. Those three blocks set a new season-high mark for her. Gresa Arapi was another key contributor, scoring eight points along with three steals.
Northbrook's defeat was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 2-10. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for Cy-Fair, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a massive bump to their 9-13 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Northbrook will be home for the holidays to greet Milby at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Texas (Milby is ranked 1473rd, while Northbrook is ranked 1486th). Cy-Fair will finish 2023 at home by hosting Klein Collins at 11:30 p.m. on December 28th. Klein Collins is coming into the match hot, having won their last 12 games.
