On Friday, Bluegrass United came up short against East Carter and fell 52-41.
Bluegrass United's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Allie McGuire, who scored 14 points along with five rebounds and three steals. McGuire has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Piper Graham, who scored 12 points along with nine rebounds.
East Carter's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Avery Hall, who scored 17 points along with five rebounds. Those 17 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Kinsley Rutledge, who scored 15 points along with nine rebounds.
Bluegrass United's defeat dropped their record down to 11-3. As for East Carter, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-2.
Bluegrass United will be staying on the road on Thursday to face off against Jackson County at 3:30 p.m. on December 28th. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Kentucky (Jackson County is ranked 65th, while Bluegrass United is ranked 57th). East Carter and St. Joseph Central will face off at 12:00 p.m. on December 28th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
