Baseball Recap: Casa Grande Takes a Loss

Casa Grande lost against Catalina Foothills back in February of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cougars lost 10-3 to the Falcons. The Cougars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Matt Villa made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. He is becoming a predictor of Casa Grande's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-2 (and 6-9 when he doesn't). Rogan Hansen was another key player, going 1-for-2 with one stolen base and two RBI.

Casa Grande's loss dropped their record down to 11-11. As for Catalina Foothills, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

While Casa Grande had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
