Softball Recap: Mountain Crest Victorious

While Mountain Crest put up some runs on Saturday, the same can't be said for Wasatch. The Mustangs came out on top against the Wasps by a score of 5-0. The win continues a trend for the Mustangs in their matchups with the Wasps: they've now won four in a row.

Morgan Coulam was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run over six innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Coulam wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Dani Alexander, who went 1-for-4 with two runs. Another was Macie Anderson, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one run.

Mountain Crest hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are 5-1 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Mountain Crest's victory bumped their record up to 8-15. As for Wasatch, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-16.

Coincidentally, Mountain Crest and Wasatch will both be playing Skyridge the next time they take the field. The Wasps will head out to face the Falcons at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, while the Mustangs will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
