While Gilford's victory against Winnisquam wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Golden Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-3 win over the Bears on Wednesday. The Golden Eagles haven't had any issues with the Bears recently, as the game was their fifth consecutive victory against them.

The team relied heavily on Mikey Giovanditto, who went 2-for-4 with three runs. Another player making a difference was Andrew Kelley, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.

Gilford's win bumped their record up to 2-3. As for Winnisquam, their defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 3-4.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Gilford is set to take on their familiar foe Belmont at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Winnisquam will face off against rival Monadnock at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
