Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only The Tri-Village Patriots walked away with it. Everything went their way against West Liberty-Salem on Friday as Tri-Village made off with a 50-29 victory. The win was nothing new for Tri-Village as they're now sitting on seven straight.
Despite the loss, West Liberty-Salem still got an impressive performance from Gabe McGill, who rushed for 91 yards and three touchdowns. McGill hasn't dropped below two rushing touchdowns for seven straight games. Miles Hostetler made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Even if they lost, West Liberty-Salem's defensive line still kept up the pressure with three sacks. Leading the way was Carson Poppe and his two sacks.
Tri-Village's victory was their third straight on the road , which pushed their record up to 11-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 47.3 points per game. As for West Liberty-Salem, their defeat ended a seven-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 10-2.
Tri-Village will take on Anna at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Anna is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. West Liberty-Salem does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
