Eureka waltzed into their contest on Friday with seven straight wins... but they left with eight. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Northwest Lions an 11-0 shutout. The result was nothing new for the Wildcats, who have now won 13 matchups by seven runs or more so far this season.

Eureka's record is now 26-6. As for Northwest, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Eureka will welcome Howell Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Wildcats 2.2, the Spartans 3.4) so any runs scored will be well earned. As for Northwest, they will host Affton at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
