With that win, Astoria/VIT brought their scoring average up to 51.6 points per game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Astoria/VIT to victory, but perhaps none more so than Ben Sherrod, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds. The matchup was Sherrod's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trynton Miller, who scored 12 points.
Astoria/VIT pushed their record up to 5-2 with that victory, which was their third straight at home. Monmouth United presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Biggsville West Central in Illinois (Monmouth United is ranked 280th, while Biggsville West Central is ranked 633rd).
