Softball Recap: Sealy Extends Home Winning Streak to Nine

Sealy won against Almeta Crawford last Tuesday with 11 runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Tigers didn't even let the Stafford Spartans on the board, marking the Tigers' second-straight 11-0 shutout. Considering the Tigers have won seven games by more than eight runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.

Sealy got a great performance from Kimberlee Aguirre as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out nine over five innings pitched. Aguirre has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Caylee Syzdek was a standout: she went 1-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Kara Kram13, who went 2-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Sealy lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've posted since back in February of 2024.

Sealy pushed their record up to 17-5 with the victory, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.9 runs over those games. As for Stafford, with the loss, they broke their four-game winning streak and moved their record to 10-7-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sealy will take on Fort Bend Willowridge at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers are facing the Eagles at the right time seeing as the Eagles are stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Stafford, they will square off against La Marque at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Spartans' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cougars have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
