Show Low and Blue Ridge are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Show Low Cougars will head out on the road to square off against the Blue Ridge Yellow Jackets at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Show Low will be strutting in after a win while Blue Ridge will be coming in after a defeat.
Even though Snowflake scored an imposing 70 points on Friday, Show Low still came out on top. Show Low narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past Snowflake 72-70. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Show Low has posted yet this season.
It was another big night for Preston Power, who scored 31 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Thomas Ellsworth, who scored 20 points.
Meanwhile, Blue Ridge pushed their score all the way to 55 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They took a hard 73-55 fall against Payson. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Blue Ridge in their matchups with Payson: they've now lost five in a row.
Show Low is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Blue Ridge, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which bumped their record down to 5-9.
Show Low came up short against Blue Ridge in their previous matchup back in February of 2023, falling 85-75. Can Show Low avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
