The Pelahatchie Chiefs will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against the Collins Tigers at 7:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Pelahatchie has four straight victories, Collins has three straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Last Friday, Pelahatchie didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against St. Andrew's Episcopal, but they still walked away with a 44-39 victory. Despite the win, that was the fewest points Pelahatchie has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Collins pushed their score all the way to 62 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Heidelberg 67-62. That's two games in a row now that Collins has lost by exactly five points.
Loss or not, Collins got some senior leadership from Kris Costanza and Jaylen Willingham. Costanza scored 20 points, while Willingham. scored 18 points along with six steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Costanza has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Donte Booth, who scored eight points along with 12 rebounds and four blocks.
Pelahatchie has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 20-7 record this season. As for Collins, their loss dropped their record down to 15-8.
