Anclote is 1-9 against Sunlake since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Anclote Sharks will head out on the road to take on the Sunlake Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. Anclote is hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Anclote suffered their biggest defeat since December 5, 2023 on Monday. They were dealt a 69-28 defeat at the hands of River Ridge. While losing is never fun, Anclote can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 496th, while River Ridge is ranked 42nd).
Meanwhile, Sunlake took a serious blow against Wesley Chapel on Monday, falling 71-40. Sunlake has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Anclote has not been sharp recently, as they've lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-10 record this season. As for Sunlake, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Anclote was taken down by Sunlake 66-28 in their previous meeting back in December of 2023. Can Anclote avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
