The Omaha South Packers suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Tuesday. They were beaten by Lincoln Southwest 69-33. Omaha South has struggled against Lincoln Southwest recently, as their game on Tuesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
Omaha South lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Aaliyah Foster, who scored seven points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Mckenzie James, who scored eight points along with six steals.
Even though they lost, Omaha South smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln Southwest only pulled down five offensive rebounds.
Lincoln Southwest was led to victory by Kennadi Williams and Eleanor Griffin. Williams scored 16 points along with seven steals, while Griffin scored 20 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Griffin has scored all season. Kallen Stauffer was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Omaha South now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Lincoln Southwest, they pushed their record up to 11-1 with that win, which was their tenth straight at home.
Omaha South will head out on the road to challenge Omaha Westside at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Omaha Westside is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 58.2 points per game. As for Lincoln Southwest, their homestand continues as they prepare to take on Fremont at 5:45 p.m. on January 19th. Fremont will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 203rd, while Lincoln Southwest is ranked 20th).
