Lebanon is a perfect 10-0 against Crescent Valley since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Warriors will welcome the Raiders at 4:30 p.m. Lebanon is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.8 runs per game this season.
Lebanon is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 18 runs on Friday, they were much more limited against West Albany on Monday. They fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-2.
Lebanon saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Genevieve Osburg, who went 2-for-3 with one double.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Crescent Valley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Friday. They won by a run and slipped past Dallas 12-11. The victory was some much needed relief for the Raiders as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
Abby Kessler was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Ashley Howitt, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs.
Crescent Valley hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Dallas struck out seven times.
Crescent Valley's win bumped their record up to 7-15. As for Lebanon, they dropped their record down to 7-14 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Lebanon hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.9 home runs per game. However, it's not like Crescent Valley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Lebanon was able to grind out a solid victory over Crescent Valley when the teams last played back in April, winning 14-9. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Raiders have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
