The Palm Harbor University Hurricanes will be playing in front of their home fans against the Steinbrenner Warriors at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Palm Harbor University should still be riding high after a big victory, while Steinbrenner will be looking to get back into the win column.
Two Fridays ago, Palm Harbor University strolled past Sickles with points to spare, taking the game 24-7. 24 seems to be a good number for Palm Harbor University as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Palm Harbor University can attribute much of their success to Mykehl Boebert, who rushed for 154 yards and three touchdowns. Boebert is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last three games he's played. Gunner Fodor and his 97 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Palm Harbor University's victory.
The team's defense also helped out by holding Sickles to a paltry 202 yards. A big part of that defensive dominance came down to Palm Harbor University's ability to keep the quarterback under pressure: the team laid him out five times before it was all said and done. Leading the way was Brady Messick and his three sacks.
Meanwhile, after soaring to 36 points the game before, Steinbrenner were a bit more limited in their match on Friday. They took a serious blow against Armwood, falling 42-3. Steinbrenner was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-3.
Palm Harbor University has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in five of their first six contests, giving them a 5-1 record. As for Steinbrenner, their loss was their fourth straight on the road (dating back to last season), which dropped their overall record down to 1-5.
Here's a few offensive stats to keep an eye on ahead of Friday' game: Palm Harbor University has been excellent on the ground this season, having averaged 167 rushing yards per game. It's a different story for Steinbrenner, though, as they've been averaging only 50.5 per game. How will Steinbrenner fare against such a dominant running game?
Palm Harbor University was dealt a bruising 42-0 defeat at the hands of Steinbrenner when the teams last played back in October of 2022. Will Palm Harbor University have more luck at home instead of on the road?
