Volleyball Recap: Doral Academy Red Rock Takes a Loss

Doral Academy Red Rock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single set away from ending the streak, but they lost a 3-2 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southeast Career Tech Roadrunners. If the Dragons were looking for revenge after losing 3-0 to the Roadrunners when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Doral Academy Red Rock started the match hot and won the first two sets, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 23-25, 17-25, 28-26, 25-19, 15-10.

When it comes to explaining why Doral Academy Red Rock lost, don't look at Royal Ogawa. Despite the final result, he had 17 digs. That's the most digs Ogawa has posted since back in March of 2024.

Doral Academy Red Rock's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Southeast Career Tech, their victory bumped their record up to 4-9.

Looking ahead, Doral Academy Red Rock will take on Durango at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Southeast Career Tech, they will challenge Sierra Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
