Baseball Recap: Elizabeth Forward Wins Going Away Against Belle Vernon

Elizabeth Forward won the last time they faced Belle Vernon and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Warriors were the clear victors by a 13-1 margin over the Leopards. That looming 13-1 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Warriors yet this season.

Elizabeth Forward let Cy Herchelroath and AJ Grese run wild. Herchelroath went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, five RBI, and two runs, while Grese got on base in four of his five plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. What's more, Grese posted two hits, the most he's had since back in May of 2024. Another player making a difference was Jacob Peterson, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Elizabeth Forward has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.0 runs over those games. As for Belle Vernon, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-2.

Looking ahead, Elizabeth Forward will host Albert Gallatin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Belle Vernon, they wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next matchup, an 8-5 win against Waynesburg Central on the 17th.
