Raines had lost three straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped down to 1-9 to make it four. They lost 18-10 to the ED White Commanders. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Vikings of the 9-8 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in March of 2025.
Masiah Smith put in work no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching 1.2 innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-low in earned runs (zero). He was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Jordan Williams led a balanced group of hitters, getting on base in three of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases, one run, and one RBI. Daniel Davis also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.
As for ED White, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-2. While they didn't have the best season last year (they finished 5-8), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past.
Like Raines, ED White also got a great game from a two-way player: Dylan De Leon. On the mound, he tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. De Leon was even better at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four stolen bases, three runs, and one RBI. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.
In other batting news, Kenai Wilkins was a standout: he went 3-for-6 with one home run, three runs, and four RBI. He has become a key player for ED White: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Jamaal Wright was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three stolen bases, three RBI, and two runs.
Coming up, Raines will face off against Ribault at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for ED White, they will challenge Middleburg at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
