Baseball Recap: Alexander Christian Academy Extends Winning Streak to Four

Alexander Christian Academy put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They put the hurt on Cornerstone Christian Academy with a sharp 13-3 win. That looming 13-3 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for Alexander Christian Academy yet this season.

Karter Minton and Peighton Harrington made a big impact no matter where they played. On the mound, Minton pitched three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Harrington struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game. At bat, Minton scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances, while Harrington scored a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Micah Gettler was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in three of his five plate appearances. Gettler is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Landyn Cupp was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

Alexander Christian Academy pushed their record up to 4-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight on the road. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 12.0 runs this season. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Alexander Christian Academy will take on Lee Park Prep at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Cornerstone Christian Academy, they will square off against Statesville Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
