The Wheeler Mustangs will be playing in front of their home fans against the Clarendon Broncos at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wheeler will be looking to keep their five-game home win streak alive.
Wheeler posted their closest win yet this season on Friday. They had just enough and edged Quanah out 37-35. Despite the victory, that was the fewest points Wheeler has scored all year.
Austin Adkins continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 16 points along with seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Barrett Meadows, who scored six points along with eight rebounds.
Meanwhile, after a string of three wins, Clarendon's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 45-39 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wellington.
Wheeler has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 17-5 record this season. As for Clarendon, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.
Wheeler came up short against Clarendon when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 54-43. Can Wheeler avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
