Basketball Recap: Glenwood Comes Up Short

Glenwood was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat dating back to last season. They were two points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 56-54 heartbreaker at the hands of the Southern Tornadoes. The Tigers were not able to make up for their loss to the Tornadoes from their previous meeting back in January.

Despite the loss, Glenwood still got an impressive performance from Wyatt McNeil, who almost dropped a triple-double on 27 points, 11 boards, and nine steals. The game was McNeil's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lamarcus Parker, who posted eight points along with ten rebounds and six steals.

Even though they lost, Glenwood smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 12 offensive boards in three consecutive matches.

Glenwood's defeat dropped their record down to 0-8. As for Southern, they pushed their record up to 6-2 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.

Glenwood will welcome St. Joseph Central at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Southern, they will head out to face off against Ravenswood at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
