Fairview is 7-0 against Sycamore since December of 2017, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Fairview Yellowjackets will head out on the road to challenge the Sycamore War Eagles at 7:30 p.m. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Tennessee (Fairview is ranked 260th, while Sycamore is ranked 253rd).
Last Thursday, Fairview ended up a good deal behind Columbia Academy and lost 63-46.
Sycamore suffered their biggest loss yet this season last Tuesday. They ended up on the wrong side of a tough 53-29 walloping at the hands of Liberty Creek. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Sycamore has scored all season.
Despite their defeat, Sycamore saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Hicks Hunter, who scored six points along with seven rebounds, was perhaps the best of all. Owen Mcmahan was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five rebounds.
Fairview's loss dropped their record down to 3-14. As for Sycamore, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-9.
Fairview was able to grind out a solid win over Sycamore in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, winning 70-63. The rematch might be a little tougher for Fairview since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
