The Upsala Cardinals lost against the Osakis Silverstreaks back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Upsala took a 51-37 bruising from Osakis. Upsala has not had much luck with Osakis recently, as the team's come up short the last eight times they've met.
Several Cardinals players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Hannah Heesen, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Heesen has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Isabel Ripplinger, who scored four points along with four steals.
Upsala has been struggling recently, as they've lost four of their last five games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-5 record this season. As for Osakis, they now have a winning record of 3-2.
Upsala will head out on the road to face off against Ogilvie at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Ogilvie presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Upsala in Minnesota (Ogilvie is ranked 111th, while Upsala is ranked 244th). Osakis will be home for the holidays to greet Barnesville at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Barnesville's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
