Statesville took a 94-83 hit to the loss column at the hands of North Lincoln on Friday. Statesville has not had much luck with North Lincoln recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Statesville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jay?Veon Lackey, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 assists. Another player making a difference was Tatum Tucker, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds.
Kellen Karr was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 29 points and ten rebounds for North Lincoln. Karr is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last seven games he's played. Ty Sanders was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds.
Statesville's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 8-10. As for North Lincoln, the victory was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 15-3.
Statesville will be playing at home against East Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in East Lincoln's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups. As for North Lincoln, they will head out on the road to face off against Hickory at 7:30 a.m. on Tuesday. Hickory is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt want to keep things rolling.
