Reno has enjoyed the comforts of home their last four games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Douglas Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Reno has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
Reno stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 62-38 margin over Spanish Springs. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Reno has posted since December 16, 2023.
Reno got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Noah Hackbusch out in front who scored 13 points along with five assists. Levi Boyd was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, Douglas pushed their score all the way to 73 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Reed 77-73.
The losing side was boosted by Jett Lehmann, who scored 23 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Caden Thacker, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Reno's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-4. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.4 points per game. As for Douglas, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-14.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Reno have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 27.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Douglas, though, as they've been averaging only 26.8 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Reno didn't have too much breathing room in their match against Douglas in their previous matchup back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 67-63 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Lehmann, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds.
