While losing is never fun, Cornersville can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Tennessee basketball rankings (they are ranked 404th, while Summertown is ranked 133rd).
Leading Summertown to victory were Kurt Burleson and Grayson Burlseon. Burleson dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds, while Burlseon dropped a double-double on 31 points and 12 rebounds. The matchup was Burleson's 11th in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Sawyer Sherman, who scored 11 points.
Cornersville bumped their record down to 1-7 with that defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Summertown, the win was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-2.
Cornersville will be playing in front of their home fans against Loretto at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Summertown, they will head out on the road to face off against Perry County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
