New Bloomfield is 0-3 against the Falcons since February of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The New Bloomfield Wildcats will head out on the road to take on the Fayette Falcons at 7:00 p.m. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Saturday, New Bloomfield lost to the Bulldogs on the road by a decisive 41-27 margin.
Despite their loss, New Bloomfield saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Jacob Fuhriman, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds and three blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Wyatt Jordan was another key contributor, scoring four points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Fayette's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their eighth straight defeat. They had to suffer through a rough 59-29 loss at the hands of North Callaway. Fayette was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-15.
Despite the loss, Fayette had strong showings from Carter Vroman, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 15 rebounds, and Payton Oeth, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 rebounds.
New Bloomfield has not been sharp recently as the team's lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-12 record this season. As for Fayette, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 2-16.
This contest is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: New Bloomfield have been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 25.9 rebounds per game. However, it's not like Fayette struggles in that department as they've been averaging 29.4 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
New Bloomfield came up short against the Falcons when the teams last played back in February of 2023, falling 58-50. Thankfully for New Bloomfield, Chase Allen-Jackman (who shot 5-for-9 from beyond the arc and dropped a double-double on 23 points and 16 rebounds) won't be suiting up this time.
