Baseball Recap: St. Michael the Archangel Wins Going Away Against Barstow

For some reason, the away team has come away with the win the last six times St. Michael the Archangel and Barstow have met, but the home crowd finally got their W on Wednesday. The Guardians blew past the Knights 11-1. Considering the Guardians have won five games by more than six runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

Parker Bushyhead looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out seven over four innings pitched.

At the plate, Henry Miller was incredible, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. Carson Hass also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

St. Michael the Archangel hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive matchups.

St. Michael the Archangel's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Barstow, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-8.

Looking ahead, St. Michael the Archangel will welcome Lafayette County at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Huskers' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so the Guardians' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Barstow, they will head out on the road to take on Cameron at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.
