This season hasn't been kind to the Zephyrhills Christian Academy Warriors, who are still winless after their fourth game. They fell 61-53 to Hudson on Thursday.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Hudson to victory, but perhaps none more so than Sydnie Johnson`, who scored 14 points along with nine rebounds and five steals. Those 14 points set a new season-high mark for her. The team also got some help courtesy of Veronica Uhrig, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 12 rebounds.
Zephyrhills Christian Academy's defeat was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 0-4. That rough patch could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 18.0 points per game. As for Hudson, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-4.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Zephyrhills Christian Academy will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on All Saints' Academy at 6:00 p.m. on January 12, 2024. Hudson and Zephyrhills will face off at 7:30 p.m. on December 18th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
