Wall has enjoyed a three-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will square off against the Roosevelt Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Wall had already proven themselves in the regular season, and didn't miss a beat now that it's playoff time. They walked away with a 21-14 win over Childress on Friday.
Wall's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Pepper, who rushed for 116 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Roosevelt waltzed into Friday's contest with two straight wins but they left with three. They managed a 20-14 victory over Crane.
Roosevelt's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Nate Casarez led the charge by rushing for 137 yards and a touchdown while picking up 7.6 yards per carry. The team also got some help courtesy of Bramdon Raven, who rushed for 72 yards and a touchdown on only eight carries.
Another reason for the win was Roosevelt's imposing defense, which managed to get into the backfield for three sacks. In that department, JP Naranjo was the leader with two sacks.
Wall's win was their 11th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2. As for Roosevelt, their victory bumped their record up to 9-3.
